Gamification in Desire2Learn

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Gamification in education, in its most basic form, is about placing the central goal of learning a subject within layers of game-like mechanisms. It is not, contrary to belief, turning education into videogames.  In this presentation I will discuss a little bit about theories related to gamification, and devote most of the presentation time to how I implemented points/rewards and badges inside a Desire2Learn class. Delegates will leave with gamification ideas, various Desire2Learn implementations that resemble gamification structures.
