MyEdBC is the new provincial student information service being implemented throughout our school districts.  In addition to managing student demographics, scheduling, and enrollment, MyEd BC offers teacher and districts a number of other features. IEPs, Learning Plans, class pages, student and parent portals, and collaboration tools are all built into the service.

This session will provide an update of the implementation, and lessons learned from districts who are using the service now.

As part of this session James will introduce and outline the Next Generation Network initiative that the Ministry of Education is working with districts to implement throughout the province.  He will outline the objectives, the process, what has happened so far, where we’re at and our current timelines. He will go over some of the technology we are upgrading and reviewing and some of the challenges we are coming up against. This will be especially informative to DE Schools and administrators of the school districts DL program on how the additional bandwidth, improved technology and reliability will aid their online efforts.
