The Good, The Bad and the Really Good: Developing Community in Blended and Fully Online Courses

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Mary O’Neill coordinates and is an instructor in Vancouver Island University's Online Learning & Teaching graduate Diploma (OLTD) Program, where Avi Luxenburg is also one of the instructors. They have observed the development of tight-knit learning communities (never an easy thing to achieve) in fully online and blended courses. Both instructors value the community aspect of learning online and present practical strategies, tools and opportunities to promote community building within a blended and fully online context. Student samples and projects will be shared and discussion will be encouraged.
