Online dialogue and discussion tools can dramatically enhance digital learning outcomes. This presentation presents an overview of these tools, and discusses their use in various educational settings. Emphasis is placed on the importance of fostering a community of learners through networks, as research shows that robust and diverse networks are important factors influencing persistence and overall academic success. Through interactive discussion, participants will explore their needs and develop a strategy for incorporating relevant dialogue tools in practice. This presentation will be useful to those seeking to support existing and/or create new flexible learning opportunities for students.
